Soul’s Sorrow A Cure
Words and music by David W. Fox,
Feb. 1, 2010 copyright
Sometimes I won---der,
Sometimes I doubt,
As I strug----gle,
To-figure-life-out.
With all of its troub---les,
Heartaches-and-tears,
My spirit grows wear---y,
With reason unclear.
Sometimes I won---der,
Sometimes I doubt,
As I strug----gle,
To-figure-life-out.
Who can I turn to
With-sorrow-to-share,
Who in this world
Has-moments-to-care?
Sometimes I wonder,
Sometimes I doubt,
As I strug----gle,
To-figure-life-out.
Sometimes I’m cheer---ful,
Sometimes I’m-blue
As I pond---er,
The-things-that-I-do.
Sometimes I won---der,
Sometimes I doubt,
As I strug---gle,
To-figure-life-out.
Then I hear knock---ing
On my hearts door,
Jesus is wait---ing
Soul's-sorrow-a-cure.
Sometimes I’m happy,
Sometimes I’m sad,
But… with Je---sus,
My-soul-is-clad.
Sometimes I wonder,
Sometimes I doubt
Yes… with Jesus,
We’re working things out.

God given Gifts
As a church family and part of the body of Christ, once one’s individual gift has been identified, make a concerted effort to utilize it to glorify God and assist others, whom we find in our circle of influence, with their cares, concerns and challenges.
1. Encouragement / Evaluate, Extend, Exult and Embolden,
2. Giving / Garden, Gather, Gladden and Glisten
3. Leadership / Listen, Lift, Lend, and Lighten.
4. Mercy / Mayhem, Measure, Majesty and Mitigate
5. Prophesying / Pray, Peer, Perceive, and Pronounce
6. Service / Sandals, Share, Shoulder and Shield
7. Teacher / Talk, Transfer, Train and Test
If your Romans 12 gift is:
Encouragement, then evaluate the needs of others, extend a heartfelt gesture of kindness exulting someone above his or her challenge so he or she has an emboldened resource of faith.
Giving, then grow a garden of “ability”, gather its crop and gladden others with the fruit of your labor. See your character glisten from the recipients’ radiant delight.
Leadership, Then listen to the people’s call, cry and concern, lift them from chaos by lending one’s expertise which in turn lightens their struggle and brightens their hope and ambitions.
Mercy, then turn mayhem into a measured response exercising the majesty of God to mitigate an action unwarranted for approval, all the while… forgiven.
Prophesying, then pray about your purpose, peer at it from all perspectives, as the idea is perceived, voice the proclamation with Godly trepidation.
Service, then prepare yourself for work by putting on “sandals”, share someone’s load by shouldering their luggage, and shield them from overwhelming circumstances.
Teacher, then talk about the subject with the learner, transfer information through eager ears to an earnest mindset, allow time for training, and follow-up the process with a test to demonstrate competency.
1-6-10 For Christians, the 6th of January
is known as the Epiphany. What a powerful message it reveals as hope is discovered in its definition. It is a time of celebration, a festival of excitement, a mystery exposed to those seeking eternal hope. Now let us share the Good News that comes from the divine awareness "Epiphany" conveys. Historically it is the day the wise men, presented gifts to the infant Jesus. From this gesture Jesus is made known to the Gentiles. Oh the gladness in spirit to find God’s grace extended to all who answer His call. Can you feel his hand knocking on your heart’s door? Listen and hear His voice say, “come to Me and experience Epiphany”. The wise men traveled to the baby Jesus and gave gifts. This day, we voice our answer, establish our faith, and place our hope in Jesus.
Today we celebrate Christmas by remembering the first arrival of the baby Jesus and strive for world peace as we work, watch and wait for;
"...your Kingdom come".
There was excitement and joy at the Meeting House last night when we sang praises and prayed prayers in honor of Christ our savior.
Our estimate is at least 75 people gathered for worship at the Veazie church during this years Christmas Eve service. One highlight for me was hearing a young boy say, "my best Christmas present this year was lighting the Christ candle".
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. (Nos. 6:24-26 / NIV)

Who, from our church family, will be used to do great things as part of the body of Christ?
Just like Zechariah, John the Baptist's father, in our individual lives there may be a time when God selects us to be a part of something bigger than what we can image.
As a Covenant Christian Church family, each person plays a part in providing the foundation for great things to occur, knowing God may call one person as the instrument of leadership for mentoring someone in his or her spiritual destiny, as revealed in the unfolding of God's plan for humankind.
When we honor God, God will honor us! For most of us we live our lives as viewed from our daily routine, but let us remember, we are building blocks in the hands of God for the construction of His eternal kingdom.
Who, from our church family, will be used to do great things for the kingdom of God?
Isaiah said, " here am I, send me."
Let's say, "here I am, use me"!

It is with excitement we enter the Christmas season. As lights are brightly glowing from street poles, stores, homes, windows and stars on top of trees; in our little church we are getting ready for a Candle Light Service Christmas Eve. Join us and together we will share the hope found in Jesus Christ;
6:00 - 7:00 pm, 12-24-09.

Thanksgiving is so much more than a day for turkey, pie and watching TV. It is a time to celebrate life in ways that reflect God's blessings to those around us. Let's start by saying
"I appreciate you!"
During the Advent Season as we look forward to, as well as, remember Christ's arrival...may we offer a prayer of thanksgiving to the giver of all that is good.
